A buyer paid outside the checkout page
Direct wallet transfers are not recognized as payments — what happens to the money and how to reconcile.
Zoyn recognizes payments made through the checkout page only. Sometimes a buyer instead copies a wallet address — from the payment network's public record, an earlier transaction, or a screenshot — and sends funds directly. That transfer is real money, but it is not a recognized payment, and it is handled differently. The checkout page itself tells buyers to pay only through the page.
Where the money is
A direct transfer to your payment contract still reaches you in full — Zoyn never holds funds at any point, and the contract's fixed allocation applies exactly as it does for any other payment. Nothing is lost. What is missing is everything around the money: no payment session was created, so no amount was checked, no payment link is completed, and the buyer sees no confirmation.
What Zoyn does with it
Zoyn watches your payment contract for transfers that arrive outside the checkout flow, records each one in your ledger as an unmatched transfer, and flags it for manual review by the operations team.
What does not happen — plan around this
- The transfer is not automatically credited against any payment link, invoice, or order. It stays unmatched until it is reconciled by hand.
- There is no automatic refund. Settlement is wallet-to-wallet: if you decide a transfer should be returned, you send it back from your own wallet, exactly as with an underpayment you choose not to keep.
Coins sent on a different network
If a buyer sends coins themselves on a different network, they do not reach your payment setup and Zoyn cannot move them; the buyer should contact the wallet or exchange they sent from.
How to reconcile
Contact support with the transaction ID from the buyer's wallet (and the payment link the buyer meant to pay, if you know it). Support reconciles the transfer against the intended order manually. Never include private keys or seed phrases in a support message.
Preventing it
Always share the payment link itself, never a wallet address. The link opens the checkout page, which fixes the exact amount and destination for the buyer — direct transfers carry neither guarantee.
