Billing and fees

How fees work

A per-transaction rate, taken on the payment network, with no invoices.

Zoyn charges a percentage of each payment: one price for crypto payments and, if your business can take card, a separate, higher price for card payments. There are no monthly minimums, setup charges, or invoices.

Your rate

Your prices are agreed during approval review, based on factors like expected volume and industry. The crypto price starts at 0.75% per transaction; the card price, if your business can take card, is separate and higher. You can see your current rate read-only under Settings → Organization; it only changes through the proposal flow described in Requested fee changes.

How the fee is collected

The fee is built into your payment contract: every payment that settles is split between your payout wallet leg and the Zoyn fee leg, in proportions fixed when the contract was set up. Nothing is swept from your balance later, and there is nothing to pay manually.

Because the split is enforced by the contract itself, the fee you were quoted is the fee you pay — verifiable on the payment network by anyone.

What the buyer pays

When your buyer pays, charges can sit on top of your link amount, and your buyer pays them — not you. There are two, and it helps to size them separately so you don't under-estimate the card cost:

  1. The checkout processing fee charged by the payment rail. This applies to the payment itself and is the smaller of the two.
  2. The card payment company's fee and currency-conversion spread. This applies only when your buyer pays by card (or through a bank or wallet with the same company), and it is usually the larger charge. A buyer paying from their own crypto wallet does not pay it.

Both are set and charged by those providers, shown to your buyer at checkout before they confirm, and Zoyn neither sets nor receives them. Your payment contract still receives the full link amount either way.

Seeing your fees

The Your price and partner tab under Money and payouts shows the running fee ledger; each payment's settlement on the payment network can be verified independently on the block explorer, linked from its detail page. See Reading your billing history.

Legal & regulatory disclosures

Zoyn is software. It is not a bank, a payment processor, a payment gateway, a money transmitter or a money services business. Zoyn is never the seller in a sale (the "merchant of record"). Zoyn never holds a shop's money, and does not decide how long a payment company may hold it. When a customer pays by card or bank, the payment company handles that payment under its own terms and may hold it for a short time. The money then goes to the shop's own payment contract once the payment network has confirmed it.

Businesses can be based in 64 jurisdictions. A US state stays open when at least one checkout partner still serves buyers there. Customers can pay from 130+ countries through the checkout providers we connect to; which countries customers can pay from is set by those providers, not by Zoyn, and may change without notice. Not available in sanctioned jurisdictions: Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Sudan, Syria, and the Crimea, Donetsk, and Luhansk regions of Ukraine.
