Requested fee changes

Zoyn proposes; the workspace owner accepts or declines.

Your fee rate never changes unilaterally. Any change starts as a proposal that your workspace owner explicitly accepts or declines.

The flow

  1. Zoyn proposes a new rate — for example after a volume review.
  2. The owner sees the proposal in the dashboard with the current rate, the proposed rate, and any notes.
  3. The owner accepts, or declines with a reason. Accepting sets the new rate. Declining closes that proposal and your existing fee stays in place.

While a rate is waiting to be accepted

Nothing stops while you decide. Your account keeps its current fee: new payment links and invoices work as normal and use that fee until you accept the new one. Everything already issued keeps working too.

The one exception is your very first rate. Until your account has accepted a rate, payment links and invoices can't be created — declining does not change that, only accepting does.

If the proposed rate does not work for you, decline it and tell us why: only Zoyn can propose a rate, and the team reads every decline reason and can send you a different one.

When an accepted rate takes effect

Accepting updates your rate on file, but the fee allocation is enforced by your payment contract, which is immutable. The new rate applies from the next payment contract setup — payments settling through the existing contract keep the old rate until then.

What acceptance sets off depends on where your account is:

  • Your first rate, accepted while the account is still being activated. Acceptance is what starts the setup: your payment contract is set up with the accepted rate built into it, and that is the step that makes the account live.
  • A later change on a live account. The existing contract keeps running at the old rate, and your account is queued for a rebuild that Zoyn coordinates.

Who can act

Only the workspace owner can accept or decline a fee proposal. Managers and other roles can see the current rate but cannot respond to proposals.

While a later change is waiting, everyone on the account keeps creating payment links and invoices at the current rate. Only a first rate that has not been accepted yet holds that back — for every role, the owner included.

Legal & regulatory disclosures

Zoyn is software. It is not a bank, a payment processor, a payment gateway, a money transmitter or a money services business. Zoyn is never the seller in a sale (the "merchant of record"). Zoyn never holds a shop's money, and does not decide how long a payment company may hold it. When a customer pays by card or bank, the payment company handles that payment under its own terms and may hold it for a short time. The money then goes to the shop's own payment contract once the payment network has confirmed it.

Businesses can be based in 64 jurisdictions. A US state stays open when at least one checkout partner still serves buyers there. Customers can pay from 130+ countries through the checkout providers we connect to; which countries customers can pay from is set by those providers, not by Zoyn, and may change without notice. Not available in sanctioned jurisdictions: Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Sudan, Syria, and the Crimea, Donetsk, and Luhansk regions of Ukraine.
