Healthcare & telemedicine

Deliver the care, keep the payment.

Clinics and telemedicine practices collect for care that cannot be returned, often prepaid as a course of treatment. Card companies price that as dispute risk and hold funds against it, while practitioner splits get reconciled by hand. Payment to a wallet you control, final after the required network confirmations, eases both.

Why this category gets penalised

The problem is the gap between paying and delivering.

Disputes on care already provided

A patient can dispute a consultation that took place, and the notes that would settle it are exactly the records a clinic cannot hand to a card company freely. Health categories are underwritten with that asymmetry in mind.

Zoyn does not reverse a confirmed transfer, so no clinical record ever has to be produced to defend a payment.

Prepaid care sitting in the dispute window

A course of treatment paid for up front is exposed for the whole delivery period, and a rolling reserve against that exposure is a common card company condition in the category.

An on-chain settlement is not a card-network dispute rail, so a long course of care is not an underwriting problem.

Practitioner splits reconciled monthly

A clinic that hosts visiting specialists or associate practitioners owes a share of every consultation fee, usually worked out from a report at month end and paid out of the clinic's own balance.

Consultation fees settle to the practice's wallet, final, as they confirm — so practitioners can be paid on your schedule, from money that has already landed, rather than in month-end arrears.

Paying clinicians across borders

Telemedicine rosters span markets, and paying a clinician abroad means a wire, an intermediary bank, an FX spread and days of float.

Paying a clinician abroad is a USDC transfer you sign from your own wallet — no correspondent bank in the path and no days of float.

How it works

One payment, settled to a wallet you control.

How a payment settles through ZoynA customer pays a payment link. The payment reaches a settlement contract, which divides it in fixed proportions set when it was deployed and pays the merchant’s own wallet and the platform fee directly. Zoyn sits outside the flow of funds.CustomerHostedcheckoutSplitcontractYour walletPlatform feeZoyn (config)Funds never pass through Zoyn
1

Create the care link

Set the fixed amount and your own patient or episode reference. No clinical detail belongs in it — send it from your practice management flow.

2

Patient pays their way

Card or crypto on a hosted checkout. Card availability depends on the buyer's location, currency, and available checkout providers. Card-funded payments are handled by the checkout provider — you never touch card data.

3

Your share is fixed up front

The shares are fixed when your payments are set up: the practice's share and the platform fee. Every payment follows them exactly, and each one can be checked on a public record.

4

USDC lands in your wallet

Final after the required network confirmations, into a wallet the practice controls. Zoyn is not in the path.

Your type of business

Businesses in this group can apply. You pick your exact type of business when you apply, and every application is reviewed.

Jurisdictions we cannot serve

We cannot onboard merchants operating from comprehensively sanctioned jurisdictions. A US state stays open when at least one checkout partner still serves buyers there. We do not hold ourselves out as licensed anywhere.

Wallet addresses you'll be paid to are checked against sanctions lists when you enter them, and re-checked every day after that.

Common questions

What healthcare & telemedicine merchants ask first.

Is this for insurance claims or for patient-pay?

Patient-pay. These are fixed-amount links a patient completes themselves, so they suit self-funded consultations, prepaid courses of care, and the patient-responsibility portion you would otherwise collect by card. Claim adjudication with a payer sits entirely outside what Zoyn does.

How do we refund a patient who did not complete a course?

You send the refund from your own wallet, in the amount your policy specifies. Nothing was pulled from the patient, so Zoyn does not reverse it, and there is no card-scheme chargeback fee on wallet payments, and no clinical justification has to be filed with a bank. For card payments, your payment provider handles card disputes with the cardholder's bank.

Does any patient information reach Zoyn?

Only what you put in the payment reference, which should be your own internal identifier rather than clinical detail. Zoyn is not a payment processor and never takes custody of funds either — payments pass automatically from the patient to a wallet you control.

Legal & regulatory disclosures

Zoyn is software. It is not a bank, a payment processor, a payment gateway, a money transmitter or a money services business. Zoyn is never the seller in a sale (the "merchant of record"). Zoyn never holds a shop's money, and does not decide how long a payment company may hold it. When a customer pays by card or bank, the payment company handles that payment under its own terms and may hold it for a short time. The money then goes to the shop's own payment contract once the payment network has confirmed it.

Businesses can be based in 64 jurisdictions. A US state stays open when at least one checkout partner still serves buyers there. Customers can pay from 130+ countries through the checkout providers we connect to; which countries customers can pay from is set by those providers, not by Zoyn, and may change without notice. Not available in sanctioned jurisdictions: Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Sudan, Syria, and the Crimea, Donetsk, and Luhansk regions of Ukraine.
