Creating a payment link

Every field in the create dialog and what it controls.

Create links from Payment links in the dashboard. Shop owners, location managers, team leaders and cashiers can create links.

Fields

  • Title (required). Shown to the buyer at checkout and used to identify the link in your dashboard.
  • Description (optional). Extra context for the buyer. Very long descriptions are shortened on the checkout page, so lead with the important part.
  • Amount. The fixed price for this link, in your settlement currency. Checkout requires a fixed amount, so every payable link has one.
  • Expires (optional). 1 hour, 24 hours, 7 days, or a date and time you choose. Leave it off and the link does not expire on its own.
  • Links are single-use: each link stops accepting payment after one completed payment and flips to Used automatically. If the same offer will serve more than one buyer, create a link per buyer.

What happens on create

The link's checkout URL on your payment domain is built immediately — there is no waiting on an external service. The link starts as Waiting for payment and can be paid right away.

Requirements

  • Your checkout account must be on file and valid.
  • Your payment contract must be active. Payments made through the link settle directly into it.
  • Your payment domain must be verified. It lives under Settings → Domains — the settings grouped under Checkout routing there are the ones that switch it on. Buyers check out on your own domain, so link creation is refused until it is active. See Setting up your payment domain.

If any requirement is missing, creation fails with a clear message pointing at what to fix.

Zoyn is software. It is not a bank, a payment processor, a payment gateway, a money transmitter or a money services business. Zoyn is never the seller in a sale (the "merchant of record"). Zoyn never holds a shop's money, and does not decide how long a payment company may hold it. When a customer pays by card or bank, the payment company handles that payment under its own terms and may hold it for a short time. The money then goes to the shop's own payment contract once the payment network has confirmed it.

Businesses can be based in 64 jurisdictions. A US state stays open when at least one checkout partner still serves buyers there. Customers can pay from 130+ countries through the checkout providers we connect to; which countries customers can pay from is set by those providers, not by Zoyn, and may change without notice. Not available in sanctioned jurisdictions: Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Sudan, Syria, and the Crimea, Donetsk, and Luhansk regions of Ukraine.
