Payments for garages, MOT centres and repair shops

A deposit before the part is ordered, and the balance before collection.

Your card machine works for the customer at the counter. A link covers the rest: a deposit before you order a special part, and the balance texted to an owner who isn't there, so they can pay before collecting. The owner pays from their own wallet, and stablecoins settle to a wallet you control. Each link is one fixed payment.

Before you read on: we publish every business type we take and every one we refuse — 28 we take, 11 we refuse.

Why this is harder than it looks

A part to pay for, an owner who isn't there, and a fault to argue about.

A special part has to be ordered first

Some jobs need a part you would not otherwise stock, and once it is ordered you are paying for it either way.

Send a deposit link for the part before you order it. The balance is a second link. Every link is a single payment of a fixed amount.

The person paying isn't at the counter

A partner dropped the car off, a parent is paying for a young driver, or the owner is away when the work is finished.

Text the balance as a link so the owner can pay from wherever they are before anyone comes to collect.

"It still isn't right"

In repairs, the argument usually arrives after the car has gone, about whether the fault was fixed.

Your terms decide what happens next and what, if anything, is owed back. Returning any of it is a payment you send back yourself. Zoyn has no refund button.

Deposits and balances settle to a wallet only you control.

Two limits worth knowing. If your own account with us is under review, automatic payouts pause until that is resolved. And a buyer paying by card can be declined, or asked to prove who they are, before the money is sent — a payment that doesn't happen, never money taken back from you afterwards.

How it works

One job, one or two links, then the keys.

1

Quote the job

Your estimate says what the work covers, and whether a deposit is needed before a part is ordered.

2

Send the link

The owner pays from their own wallet, or by card where available — buyer eligibility depends on country, payment method, provider, and compliance checks.

3

The payment reaches your wallet

After the required network confirmations, in the currency the link was set in.

Common questions

What a garage asks first.

Do I keep taking payments at the counter?

Yes. Most customers who stand at your counter will pay the way they do today. A link is for the moments they aren't there: a deposit before a part is ordered, or a balance paid before collection.

We are a body shop and an insurer is paying.

The insurer's share is settled the way you settle it today. A link is for what the owner pays you directly, such as the excess or work outside the claim.

I'm a mobile mechanic.

Send the link from your phone when the job is done, with the job number as the description. The customer pays it once, for the amount on it.

What does it cost me?

A percentage of each payment, agreed with you in writing before you go live: crypto payments start at 0.75%, and card payments, if your business can take them, have a separate, higher price. No monthly platform fee and no setup fee. Network fees, and any extra charge for how your customer pays, are separate. Your customer pays them on top of your price and sees their total before they pay.

Will you take my garage?

We publish every business type we take and every one we refuse, and every application is reviewed before it goes live. We don't promise a timeline we can't keep.

Selling parts online too? Read the page for online car parts shops. Running a wider motor business? Read the page for automotive. Not sure we'd take your business? See exactly how we decide.

Send your next repair balance as one link.

Apply today, and settle each payment to a wallet only you control after the required network confirmations. Every application is reviewed.

Zoyn is software. It is not a bank, a payment processor, a payment gateway, a money transmitter or a money services business. Zoyn is never the seller in a sale (the "merchant of record"). Zoyn never holds a shop's money, and does not decide how long a payment company may hold it. When a customer pays by card or bank, the payment company handles that payment under its own terms and may hold it for a short time. The money then goes to the shop's own payment contract once the payment network has confirmed it.

Businesses can be based in 64 jurisdictions. A US state stays open when at least one checkout partner still serves buyers there. Customers can pay from 130+ countries through the checkout providers we connect to; which countries customers can pay from is set by those providers, not by Zoyn, and may change without notice. Not available in sanctioned jurisdictions: Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Sudan, Syria, and the Crimea, Donetsk, and Luhansk regions of Ukraine.
